After a massive outcry from the fanbase Bioware released the “Extended Cut”-DLC for “Mass Effect 3” today. The 1,9 GB file can be downloaded for free. The Extended Cut adds several scenes to the last 40 or so minutes of the game, before and after the players make their final choices.
I have already played it and must admit that they made a real effort to adress the most glaring problems of the original ending. It gave me a lot more sense of closure.
Unfortunately the issue of lacking variability still stands and a lot of questions have been left open. The fact alone that it had to come so far to make them realise the first ending was inadequate leaves a bad aftertaste. An in-depth analysis will follow.
